AhlulBayt News Agency: The British daily Telegraph has criticized the country’s involvement in the bombardment of Yemen, stating that no aggressor in history has ever succeeded in attacking the country.
On Wednesday, April 30, British warplanes participated in the American-led military operation against Yemen, striking several targets. Political analysts in London have questioned the purpose of these attacks, asking why Britain is engaging in a war that many believe will yield no strategic benefits. According to Pars Today, Telegraph reported that critics have warned of the futility of this military intervention.
British analyst James Snail, in an opinion piece, highlighted the history of foreign military interventions in Yemen over the past 60 years, noting that countries such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia have engaged in conflicts there, only to face disastrous consequences. He pointed out that Egypt was left in ruins following its involvement, while Saudi Arabia suffered a humanitarian crisis and endured missile and drone attacks.
Snail argued, “We are neither Saudi Arabia nor Egypt. But that does not mean we can truly defeat Ansarullah.” He further remarked, “Launching a few missiles is easy and may provide temporary relief, but Britain must ask itself what its long-term strategy is. The U.S. often grows weary of such wars and eventually withdraws—why should we follow the same path again?”
He emphasized that analysts believe Britain’s lack of a clear objective, long-term strategy, and tangible results in this war will inevitably lead to repeating past failures.
Since March 15, 2025, Britain and the U.S. have carried out aerial attacks on Yemen in support of the Zionist regime. These strikes have targeted residential areas, vital infrastructure—including water reservoirs—and civilian centers, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of Yemeni civilians and injuries to many others.
